This Girl’s Got Style isn’t focused on one particular girl, but the movie Bye Bye Birdie as a whole. I watched the film for the first time last week and although I didn’t care much for the story, I absolutely fell in love with the choreography and cinematography. The colors in this scene? Amazing.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Bye Bye Birdie, it’s about a VERY popular rockstar, Conrad Birdie (Jesse Pearson) who’s been drafted to the army. Aspiring chemist/song writer, Albert (Dick Van Dyke), and his girlfriend, Rosie (Janet Leigh), develop a plan to get Conrad on The Ed Sullivan Show and kiss a high school girl (Ann-Margret) goodbye.

Girl’s Got Style: Elle Fanning

I know Elle Fanning isn’t particularly a new face to fame. I remember first seeing her in Phoebe in Wonderland a few years ago. Now Elle’s graduates on to bigger roles in films Somewhere and most recently Maleficent. She seems extremely passionate about what she does and I expect her to do great things.

Elle’s editorial shot by Angelo Pennetta for the June 2014 issue of Vogue UK is all sorts of wonderful and made me fall in love with her all over again.

If there’s anything more heavenly than a French babe, it’s a French babe with style. And cute bangs. That’s exactly what Léa Seydoux is to me.

I first discovered her a few years ago when I watched the movie Midnight in Paris (one of my absolute favorites!). She has such an awesome, laid back style. I can’t pull off the sans-makeup-still-chic look, but man this girl can rock it!

Girl’s got style: The Waltons

There are a lot of new columns/tweaking going around with Drifter & the Gypsy lately, and this is a new column I’m going to run myself. As a part-time fashion blogger, I’m constantly inspired by other people’s style. Girl’s Got Style showcases my latest girl crushes, both vintage and modern.

My mom has jumped on The Waltons bandwagon as of late. I’ve watched it with her a few times. Although I’m not a huuuuge fan of the show (sorry guys, kinda boring), there is something about the schoolgirl look that will always have a special place in my heart.
